Nice...or Naughty?

Moments ago I was reading "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to Codey before bed. He listened well and at the end I said, "You see Codey, Christmas is not about the presents and the candy and the decorations, right?" He says, "Yeah I know Mom, it's about caring and giving." My mouth dropped. I picked him up and hugged him and told him how proud I was of him for understanding. Then as I rolled him over to go to bed he smiled and under his breath said, "and hitting!" Hmmm...way to ruin the moment.
