The Anticipation...on Christmas Eve

What a fun and busy day. Codey was anxious to make sure the cookies were ready for Santa so we decorated and decorated cookies. Oh wait, they decorated one or two and then licked icing and then I did the rest. Regardless, we had enough for Santa's arrival.

Kyndal actually never ate a sugar cookie the last few days...she just licked the icing off! Then began the restof the Christmas Eve traditions: opening the first gift of Christmas.
Always Christmas jammies in the gift! Then time to read The Night Before Christmas.

And then head outside to look for Santa and the reindeer. No luck on our Christmas Eve as we were getting dumped on with snow. A lot of it!

The kids picked out the perfect cookies for Santa. Codey was afraid Aspen would eat them before Santa's arrival so he suggested the chair...wise move Codey.

Last, but not least, drop the oats in the yard for the reindeer to eat. There was no evidence of them in the morning. I hope the reindeer ate it before the 10 inches of snow covered them.
I'm not sure if the Eve or the real day is more exciting. The anticipation from the kids was so fun. The excitement, the wonder, the magic. And this year, the snow...how perfect!!
