Despite the Distance...

Despite the distance, Mimi and Papa always make sure that Kyndal and Codey know they are thinking about them and that they love them. They call them often. Papa sends Codey emails of Santa's reindeer that he has spoted. He writes letters to Santa on their behalf telling Santa how good they have been. Mimi writes the most heartfelt letters that bring you to tears (and you know she is crying while writing them.) Although my kids are their 20-something numbered grandkids, I know she prays for them everyday (sometimes every hour when we need it.) She has made them both special dolls that have clothing from their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents. They can't make the trip from TX often, but they are sure to let our kids know they are close to their hearts. They sent them a bubble gum machine this summer. About a month ago they sent them the "lifetime supply" of backup gumballs to fill the machine. While Codey was thanking them on the phone for the gum, he oh-so-subtly mentioned his desire for a blue power ranger watch.
Careful what you say when you talk to Mimi.
This weekend a blue power ranger watch arrived in the mail. Codey was amazed and so happy and proud to wear it.
And of course they couldn't forget Kyndal.
Her Tinkerbell watch excited her just as much.
We do our best to make sure they know Mimi and Papa love them and care for them deeply. They know. Mimi and Papa....they know. Thank you.
Papa is sick right now and he better know that we are praying hard and we know God has him tight in his Hands. We love you both!
