Don't Blink

Thanks to my friends Whitney, Val and Stephanie who I faithfully follow their blogs, I have been pulled into the world of blogging. With family and friends all over, I hope this offers them a quick peak to check on the Kansas Geis Family.

Ironically enough, I was listening to the iPod blare Kenny Chesney's, Don't Blink into my ears last Friday as my doctor was yanking and tugging my wisdom teeth out of my mouth! The song always scatters goose bumps all over me. And right then our family blog was born!

The hardest truth I've come to learn is that time goes faster everyday of my life. Since marrying my amazing husband and having our two blessed children, I am blown away at the passing of time. Hundreds of times a day I yell at myself to stop what I'm doing and "take it in." Take in the sound of Kyndal's giggle as Daddy tickles her. Take in the precious look on Codey's face as he plays with his cars or his tongue sticking out of his mouth as he diligently colors. Take in the feel of Kyndal weight on my lap as we read books. Take in the picture of Codey following Daddy with his lawn mower. Take in the peaceful look on Troy's face and he sleeps with Kyndal on his chest. Take in Codey's sweet voice as he leads Kyndal to dress up in Superman with him. Take in Dad's patience and Codey's efforts as Dad coaches him soccer in the backyard. The bottomline is that I don't want to blink...not even just once...because I don't won't to miss a second of them, a sound or a smell of them. I feel so blessed. So blessed. My four year old is about to begin his final pre-school year. I can't even say the "K" word that is coming next year. I want to soak it up...ALL of it. I don't want to ever forget any of it...not one single moment. I pray this blog will help me cherish all the moments that I never want to forget...and share them with my loved ones too.
