Let It Snow
We told Codey that this is most the snow he has seen in his whole life. He dropped his draw and said, "Really?" (Like his 4 years is so long.) We are sure it is the most snow Troy has seen in KS since he has lived here. It would be nice if God could spread it out a little bit but we will enjoy the enormous amounts that have been dumped on us in a very short time!!
We have our own little hidden hill in our cul-de-sac that has been fabulous as to not have to drive and bring all the gear. We get to slide a bit and then stumble in for hot cocoa. The blue dot on the back of Troy is Codey riding tandem. These two boys have logged hours.
Oh, yeah, it feels so nice. Aspen joins the crowd at the sledding hill and enjoys every minute. She too is experiencing some cabin fever!
I wish I could remember that feeling. You know the one when you were young and the cold didn't bother you. The one where you could go for hours and hours and that bitter cold wind in your face didn't matter. Oh, how I wish. Today we told Codey that tomorrow KS will hit record lows and it will be colder than it's been in 20 years. He said, "Dad, we prolly shouldn't play outside tomorrow." Smart kid.
Kyndal went out long enough to see the boys slide down the hill a few times. Don't judge me that she doesn't have gloves on. We fought for 20 minutes before coming out. They were in my pocket in case she changed her mind.
Honestly, I'm not sure if anyone enjoys this snow more than my husband. He gets giddy. Remember in a prior post when I said he will only rise early to play golf or go on a trip? Add "shoveling snow" to that list. And not just our house. The neighbor who is out of town; the neighbor who's husband is out of town; the neighbor who is still sleeping; or just the neighbor who hasn't got around to it yet. I know, you wanna move closer don't you?
