At first, she was very excited. Thrilled that Nana and Pa came to watch the big star.

She started as goalie and had lots to look at
besides the game.

Coach had a little pep talk. Focus Kyndal, focus.

So she kicked it out of the goal one time. Once.

Then she became oh-so-sad. Looked at the grass and stuck her bottom lip out for the remainder of the game.

Coach held her hand and
dragged her along in hopes to jump-start her. If you could only see her face here....not happy.

Once Coach let go, she would retreat back to this look.

Trying again: Pep talk #2!

So then she began to chew on her shirt. Yet another defense mechanism.

The more we tried to motivate, the lower the head got and the farther the lip stuck out!

She missed most the game by staring at the grass and came off the field in tears. A bit of performance anxiety we assume.
So what do we do? Reward her with McDonald's anyway. :)
This was pretty cute to watch!
ReplyDeletePoor thing! I feel bad for her but I have to agree - the pictures are pretty cute. :)
