The Big "K!"

I remember telling my friend that I was pregnant with my first baby and she asked me, "Oh a May birthday, so will you send it to Kindergarten when he/she is 5 or 6?" Really? Was she asking me this? That was so far away on my radar I had to laugh at her. Never did I know it would sneak up on me with such a slap in the face!
It was a bittersweet week for me. I wasn't ready, but I knew he was...and that helped. He was so excited, I couldn't be sad. So I guess my tears on this big day were because it was what it was...my baby was going to kindergarten. I teared when I woke him up and told him what day it was...then again when he put his back pack on...and again when he stood in front of that big school sign...then again when he walked down the hall with all those BIG kids (and with such confidence)...and then again when he walked in the room...and then again when I walked out.
I held it together for him though. It was his special day. And he had a BLAST!!! I really didn't expect this morning face until middle school, but here it is. It was just early for him...he came around. He asked for breakfast burritos, so Dad obliged.

He looks ready doesn't he? I know little girls, watch out, he's a cutie!

Why does he look so much older with his hands in his pockets? (Kyndal didn't think I needed to do her hair for this occasion.)

Going to school is easier when you have your best buddy by your side. Carson and Codey have been in the same preschool class for 2 years. They are in different K classes. We think this is good for them!
