 20.  He is a fisherman.  This is his first fish ever caught on his OWN in Colorado when he was one. He's never grossed out by the worms and can get any fish off a hook.

 19.  He bleeds red and blue for KU and has been a fan since birth.  This was our first family KU football game.

 18. He's not such a serious guy!  Especially when we're trying to get a cute Christmas card shot!

 17.  He's an outdoors-kid!  Give him a choice and you'll always find the boy outside.  Here he is skiing at the Ozarks with his cousins.

 16.  Like his dad, he's a hunter.  "Just trying to put food on the table," they say.  He goes turkey hunting with all his cousins and uncles.  Soon he'll be a deer hunter too.

 15.  He loves soccer!  As if you didn't already know this!  But as you can see, he's been playing since he was 2!  Now he plays almost everyday.  If he doesn't have practice or a game, he's playing in the basement or in the backyard.

 14.  He's a sports' nut!  He loves Jayhawk basketball (here in the locker room), but loves to watch soccer, basketball, football, golf, the Olympics...pretty much anything.

 13. He often finds himself trapped.  He gets himself into things without thinking about a way out...like climbing to the top of a tree.  Here he is stuck in a basket in Texas with his dad's family.

 12.  He's a mess!  When he was 9 months old, we knew we were in trouble.  He would pull all the books off the shelf, turn plants over, pour all the dog's food and water out, and open the fridge and empty the drawers.  He's not that bad now, but our dog sits under his chair at dinner knowing he will spill the most!

 11.  He's an accident waiting to happen!  When he was 1, he fell into a Home Depot refrigerator and got stitches on his lip.  At 4 he fell on his friend's bed and got stitches in his chin.  And at 6 (above) he ran into a basketball goal pole after making a layup and got stitches on his head.  They know him by name at the ER!

 10.  He loves animals!  Since he was little he always chose books about sharks and reptiles and spiders.  He loves to learn about animals.  He especially loves this one, Copper, our 2 year old lab and she loves him too!

 9.  He's always on the move!  He doesn't like to sit still as you can probably tell since he can't sit still in his chair at school.  He'd always prefer running, jumping, moving than sitting.  This is probably one reason he loves soccer.

 8.  He's a huge Sporting KC fan!  He had his 7th birthday at the stadium and was all over the jumbo-tron.  We go to many games and love the team.  He knows the players' names and positions and has met many of them.

 7.  He's always ready to try something new.  And he never wants to miss out on any fun!  Here he is mutton busting in Colorado.  It was his first time and he was awesome!

 6.  He's a joker!   He is goofy and loves practical jokes.  He loves to pull good jokes on his dad and obviously never takes life too seriously!  (Here he is at his preschool graduation.)

 5.  He's too cool for school.  So instead he'll hang with the gorillas.  He likes to meet all different kinds of people and gets along well with most!

 4.  He's a fish.  He loves the water and could swim everyday.  He's not afraid to try new things in the pool either. Once he decided to do a back flip off the side without telling anyone and landed on the edge of the pool!

 3.  He's a good sport.  He loves any sport.  Here he is competing in his first kids' triathlon.  Most importantly, he wins and loses with grace and respects his teammates, coaches and opponents.

 2. He fills his dad's shoes.  Since he was born, they have shared passions...hunting, fishing, soccer, KU basketball, and even their looks!

1. He's one of a kind.  As his parents, we think he is a pretty special kiddo.  He has a good heart, a good sense of humor, he treats others well (besides his sister), and has a love for life.  We are proud of him!
