Finally, Christmas Day!
Officially a month has past, so in Brittney time, here it is: Codey woke us announcing the date ( in case we didn't remember) at 7:45. With permission, he woke Kyndal and begged us to get out of bed. Down the stairs we went....
Kyndal had to yell to Codey 3x for him to see what Santa left him. Despite my letter to Santa suggesting to ignore Codey's requests, Santa honored his. He delivered an IPod. It came with many instructions from Mom and Dad along with a "you can throw it against the wall and it won't break" protective cover on it. He was pleased. And since a month has passed, I can say now that it was a fine idea. There is no obsession. It gets attention, but only occasionally.
Kyndal was of course pleased too to see her "American girl" doll (as she calls it even though it is a Madame Alexander doll.) Funny thing is my mom had a MA doll that I was never old enough to play with. Amazing that I am 30-something and I was never offered that doll. Although the minute we got to Nana's this day, out came the doll and the clothes for Kyndal to play with. Hmmm. Grudge? Jealous? Hmmmm.....
Santa's leftovers...
From the desk of Santa, the kids had a thank you note from Santa....impressed they were!
Before digging in, we read the Christmas Story to the kids. By golly, we are going to do our best to help the kids always remember what this day is really about.
Little Cops dug out of her stocking too!
And the digging in began...
So thoughtful...
Even big kids can be giddy Christmas morn...
By 10:00 we were at Nana and Pa's with the cousins.
Liam had a blast. Hard to believe last year he was only 1 month old.
The craziness....
The one baby she really wanted Nana and Pa to get her...yippee!
Showing her thanks to Pa...
and Nana...
Wish I had a baby pic of my brother to share here. Much resemblance.
